Welcome to the first 2015 blog income and stats recap of MMYW! January was again spent living a mostly offline life, I was in Spain and France, and flew back to Guatemala on the 30th, through a NYC snow storm, managing to make it home on time which was a miracle. I mostly kept the blogs on survival mode, as I had little time, and the first half of February as well. In spite of good intentions, there is always something going on in real life that is more important, so no pressure, but I have a few posts ready for the rest of February, which are long overdue.
Check previous income and stats recaps:
Expenses
VA and staff writing $275. The VA is still my main expense, as I have done little cosmetic work lately. She has been looking for more hours, so if you need one let me know
EXPENSES TOTAL $275. I had a few plans to invest in my sites but no time to do so, so the projects are postponed at the moment. I am also keeping some $$ to maybe buy a new site.
Income
RFI
$1,950 Not as good as December, and once again under $2,000, visits have dropped since I have been posting less. January also started very slow, with the first half being almost no income.
MMYW
$1,914. A good month, again that picked up during the second half of the month.
SAVVY SCOT
$2,455 Savvy Scot was the site with more content in January, and also the highest income.
TOTAL $6,319. $200-ish less than last month, but for the first time over $6,000 for three month in a row. I didn’t expect it since I was on holiday and barely kept the sites alive.
I closed 2014 at $70,423 and didn’t have a goal for 2015 until now but I will set it to $75,000 to make it interesting. I am barely on track so far, $69 over target.
After Costs Total
$6,044 yay for a great month!
10% of blogging income will go to sponsor young girls’ education in my village. I have spent most of my money as per the last update, left only with $300-ish so it is awesome to have $631 to add to the pot. THANK YOU for helping keep this site what it is and contributing to its monthly income!

Ooooh, fantastic! What stats checker do you use? I use Moonsy but it seems like they don’t update very often..

I use check-domains.com/website-analysis/website-analyzer.php but they limit to 4 sites per hour so moonsy is my backup
No Nonsense Landlord says
My blog is growing pretty fast. There are always new people and people that are interested in finding more about rental property and ways to become financially independent with it. It is not usual to get 600+ hits a day, some days over 1,000.
Pauline says
That is pretty solid, good for you!

Nice work, Pauling! I have no idea how you manage 3 blogs, but you do, and you do it well! I would love to see a post about how you manage your time.

Thank you Gretchen! I manage my time poorly, but thankfully the VA does a great job. I mostly write and deal with ad people, she does social media and promotion.
Anne @ Money Propeller says
As always, you’re killing it! January was much better than things have been for awhile, for me (with Money Propeller), but still a long way from where I want them. February is looking a bit dicey as I also put less time into the sites and there were fewer advertisers around. Ah well, I will march on!

January was a good month for me. I was happy to see the trend continue from the end of 2014. I am hoping to keep it up, but things have slowed down here in February.

Good for you Don! February is shorter as well so adsense may be a bit lower.
Gen Y Finance Guy says
Those are some really solid stats. If you don’t mind me asking, in what ways do you monetize your different blogs?
Are you doing private placement ads? Affiliate links? I don’t see adsense which seems to be the default for a lot of the blogs I see.
Cheers!

I do have adsense blocks, then other blocks that bring in affiliate commission like Genesis or Airbnb, some more affiliate links placed in various posts, I do banner rentals and some direct advertising. I do sponsored tweets and FB posts, and also write for a few websites for a fee. What I don’t do and don’t think I’ll ever do is sell people a product of mine like an ebook, or have readers pay for “premium” content.

Impressive blog income,Pauline!Great to read an update from you. You sound super busy!! I know for me that I wanted my online income to be higher before jumping into self-employment, but then I was laid off. I took the mindset, it’s now or never. While income has be good, it’s a slow process growing it. Still, I’m seeing progress so that keeps me pushing forward.

Thats awesome Pauline that you were still able to make a similar amount even though you were on vacation for a bit. Pretty cool!
Sage @ The Dream Team says
Wow, this was pretty inspirational and gives me hope for the future of my own blogging efforts, if I ever finally decide to do more personalized blogging. I’ve done financial blogging here and there but I’ve become more interested lately, in the idea of blogging about my own life experiences. Naturally it will take a long time for me to take it where you have with your own blogs but it’s nice to really have t laid out before me, just what it is that I could possibly be looking forward to, if I ever manage to build up any sort of a following.

Hu, I have a blog with a much higher Alexa rank that generates much less than any one of your sites on a monthly basis. What am I doing wrong???
