Welcome to the 9th blog income and stats recap of MMYW! Once again I am ashamed to admit that I spent very little time growing those blogs, although I did grow up the queue of posts a bit, I spent too little time promoting the content.
Check previous income and stats recaps:
November income $2,697 + 10% of Savvy Scot’s purchase price
December income $4,625 + 45% of Savvy Scot’s purchase price
January Income $3,290 + 45% of Savvy Scot’s purchase price
Expenses
MMYW
Virtual assistant and staff writing: $0. The VA now goes to Savvy Scot, and I had stocked up on posts on Q4 2013.
RFI
Total $25. I bought a few fiverr gigs.
SAVVY SCOT
VA and staff writing $257. I moved the VA costs over there as it is my newest website.
EXPENSES TOTAL $282. The plan is to keep it around the $300 mark for the foreseeable future.
Income
RFI
$2,245 This is a mix of Adsense, affiliate sales, and direct advertising, plus a little income I got from my ad referral network’s commissions. Contact me if you are interested in joining the ad network! It was a low month, still above the $2,000 mark so no complains but I spent very little time promoting my posts which resulted in less sales and Adsense income.
MMYW
$845. Under the $1,000 target for MMYW, I really need to look more into affiliate programs for products I love, as I still refuse to tout credit cards, which are not a good fit for the site (and the few CC programs I tried to apply for won’t have a non U.S. based site promote their stuff).
Savvy Scot
$1,860. My ego is a little sad that a site I bought is performing better than a site I started from scratch but I’ll take it anyway, at least it was a good buy.
TOTAL $4,950. As usual, 10% will be donated to my charity projects, that is $495.
This month, I donated $300 to Charity:Water, a great project that gives clean water access to villages in need. A friend was celebrating her birthday and asked for donations instead of gifts, you can check out their website to donate your next birthday. So I will add $195 to my education fund.
After Costs Total
$4,668. A drop from last month but still pretty good considering I spent so little time taking care of my blogs.
10% of blogging income will go to sponsor young girls’ education in my village, my education fund had $5,555 – $2,196 that I spent on back to school uniforms, books, and boarding school for the best two middle school students who will go to high school for the next three years.
The full spending recap is there, and we started the computer program this week with two laptops donated by readers and two I bought so stay tuned for an update soon!
Left in the fund: $5,555 – $2,196 = $3,359 + $195 from March = $3,554
Blog stats for RFI
I practiced what I preach and did a spring cleaning of my blogs this month, which resulted in the site being down for a couple of days because the VA installed a plugin that didn’t work and I was away from the computer to restore the backup (DO BACKUPS!!!) but still gained 4K pageviews compared to 28 day February.

Good numbers, well done, congratulations. Keep up the good work. The path on how to retire a millionaire is just ahead since you were able to make good money with little time put on it. Thanks for the advise about backups. Will apply it if ever i have a website. Whats your total goal for 2014 Pauline?

Same response I always have to these posts: I haven’t reconciled last month’s finances yet! Nice job on the almost $5k of income. I definitely hope to get closer to that figure and I think having a second website will help me get a higher monthly income long-term.

It does, although my figures on RFI are a bit lower than when I had just one site, spending less time, posting less, means it took a hit.
Holly@ClubThrifty says
Pauline, you are doing awesome. Great job! I haven’t added up my March income yet but I’m pretty sure I did well.

I was thrilled to hit 7,000 views during March. I received so many spam comments for hair chalk that I had to Google it to find out what it is.
I have decided to take a big leap and spend a little money getting technical help for my site. Now I just have to decide what it is I want to do.

And then maybe we will talk about advertising because I have a life time ban from Google’s adsense and yahoo ads aren’t worth very much.

Stefanie @ The Broke and Beautiful Life says
My blog has gone from making under $100/month to about $500/month since the start of the year. I really wish PR would update as I think that would help me double, triple, etc that number in the coming months. I’m stuck at a 2.

Nice purchase with Savvy Scott. Did you disclose how much you bought it for? No worries if not.
I’m just wondering why folks would ever sell a website in this day and age. Burn out perhaps? Valuations seem so low, and the cash flow is pretty huge.
