With Christmas just around the corner, the festive spirit is well and truly in the air. But unfortunately, along with the Christmas cheer comes the hustle, bustle and stress of Christmas shopping. With just weeks to go, you still have no clue what to buy half the people on your list, and the classic cliché gift of novelty socks is now starting to look like a great choice for your Dad.
With already so much to think about, this time of year is when you could be most at risk of falling victim to fraud. So, as you make your way through the hordes of people in store, or as you spend hours clicking around online trying to find the perfect gift, remember to stay savvy to those fraudsters’ tricks.
To help you out, NatWest has created the How to Fight Tool. The tool takes a look at the 11 most common types of fraud and provides tips on how you can stay protected. Some of it may seem like common sense, but tips such as remembering to guard your PIN and ensuring you’re making purchases on a secure site could be the difference between a merry or miserable Christmas this year.
