Car accidents and other traffic incidents are the leading cause of injury worldwide. Car accidents have become the top preventable cause of death, especially for those under the age of 25. Luckily due to advancing technology, the mortality rate of these accidents has been decreasing over time, but the rate of accidents has remained steady. Some of the most shocking pieces of information are that 23% of all auto accidents are alcohol related, and another 23% are due to distracted driving. The Car Accident Attorneys at Paulson Coletti have provided an infographic illustrating some of the most shocking car accident statistics in the United States.

Road accidents can lead to great loss of property, life or even jobs. Its good that they can be controlled thus leading to a more productive population.

I found this info graphic really helpful. I would have hoped that the death statistic would have gone down from last year. There has been a lot of emphasis in my area on not texting and driving and I think it has helped out quite a bit.
What is causing the decline in car crashes? I have been noticing this in my state, they have been ptuuing up signs how long it has been since s a seriosu crash. The numbers keeping getting lower and lower. I wonder if maybe it is the way we are setting up roads here.
This info-graphic was very informative. I was surprised to learn that every hour 273 people are killed or suffer a personal injury in an auto accident. This is one reason why I am excited about self-driving vehicles. Hopefully once self-driving vehicles are on the roads, it’ll help decrease the number of injuries and deaths caused by car accidents.
I am glad that mortality rates have decreased, but it is too bad that many accidents are preventable. I didn’t know “that 23% of all auto accidents are alcohol related, and another 23% are due to distracted driving.” Drivers need to be more careful so that deaths and injuries can be prevented. Thanks for the data on this issue.
Statistically speaking seniors and teenagers are more likely than any other age groups to be involved in a car crash. Yet interestingly enough, people over the age of 65 are most likely to actually die due to a crash.
It’s interesting that the mortality rate from from accidents has decreased (thankfully!) but the rate of accidents has actually stayed the same! This shows that drivers are no more careful than drivers generally have been historically. Thus, making sure that you are protected and your car is protected in case of an accident is important. Because people are still getting in accidents at the same rate, there is not telling when you’ll get in an accident, but the chance of you getting in one, is high. So, taking all of the precautions necessary will give you the peace of mind of being physically and financially protected in the case of this emergency. Thank you for sharing!
Oh wow, that’s somewhat of a shock to see that the leading cause of auto accidents are still alcohol related as well as distraction driving. Hey, just recently a friend of mine got into a car accident in which some guy was texting while driving and it sure landed both of them at the hospital but luckily for some minor injuries. Still, my friend went on to contact an auto accident lawyer to resolve the issue and maybe get some compensation from the accident.
It’s so interesting that the number of accidents caused by alcohol is the same percentage as those caused by distracted driving! I know I’ve been guilty of distracted driving a couple of times. Reading this article helps me realize how dangerous that really is. I will definitely make more of a concerted effort to avoid distracted driving from now on! Thanks!
Surprisingly enough, I expected the number for annual cost of car crashes to be higher than 277 billion. It’s amazing that 273 people are killed or injured in crashes every hour though! I hope eventually that number goes down.
Getting hurt and not being able to take care of my family is something that scares me. With that being the case, I’m trying to find some insights on what I would do if that were to ever happen to me. This helped a ton and I hope that I can be prepared for it.
That’s amazing that there are 273 people injured or killed in auto accidents in America. What’s even scarier is that 23% of these accidents are alcohol related. I’m sure that these kinds of accidents can be much more serious as well. It’s probably important to make sure that you have a personal injury attorney and a police report on your side if you are ever struck by a driver under the influence. Thanks for the infographic.
Some car accessories or parts that needs replacement can be hard to find sometimes and really expensive. It’s good to widen your search and get good deals on the internet.
Well, there are of thousands, if not hundreds of thousands, of drivers with the same claim to fame — proving what exactly? No one gets killed on injured simply from biker fatigue or excess time on the road! People do get killed or injured because others do not follow traffic laws or because of unsafe infrastructure. While your scoff-law maxim might not be responsible for those incidents, it is not a solution either. You are basically rubbing our noses in to your streak of good luck, and frankly, no one is impressed!
This was a great infographic! Car accidents happen everyday and if you do get in one, you should look at a lawyer to help you through the insurance gauntlet.
Really you provided good information through info graphic. Keep providing such kind of information in future.
